Scholarships

We are pleased to announce that we will again be offering scholarships to AFSCME New Jersey Council 63’s members and their family in 2022! Scholarships will be awarded to AFSCME New Jersey members who are pursuing either their Masters degree, Bachelors degree, Associates Degree, or degree from a Trade School.

The deadline for applications is May 31, 2022.

The amount of these scholarships will range from $1,000 - $2,000 each.

The scholarship is a one-time cash award to be  presented to the recipient on Sunday, June 26, 2022. 

Eligibility: Eligible applicants must have/ be one of the following: 

• AFSCME New Jersey Council 63 member  
• Children of an AFSCME New Jersey Council 63 member
• Current college/ university student of an active AFSCME New Jersey Council  63 member 
• Graduating HS Senior an AFSCME New Jersey Council 63 member 

How to Apply: Please fill out the application, both the student section and the member section, and submit the 500-word essay. Essays should be submitted electronically no later than 11:59pm on Tuesday, May 31st , 2022

To be eligible all essays must be accompanied by the applicant’s most current transcript  and/or acceptance letter. Essay: Describe the importance of the contributions that frontline workers, including AFSCME  members, have made during the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact that it has had on  you and your family
